Awards & Scholarships
Kingsway College offers awards & scholarships based on merits at the end of each school year. Our awards and scholarships are funded through the generous support of alumni and friends of Kingsway College who believe strongly in Christian education. These are awarded based on various criteria - academic, leadership, citizenship, etc. Awards and scholarships are presented and awarded at the awards ceremony, in early June, and during graduation celebration weekend.

Scholarships
Scholarships are amounts awarded based on criteria determined by the main donor of a scholarship; awarded to grade 9-11 students and transferred directly to their account. Below is the list of active scholarships currently awarded at Kingsway College.

To a student who demonstrates academic diligence, leadership, good work record and a positive Christian influence.

Awarded to a student who has unselfishly helped others either at school or in the community and intends to be an elementary school teacher or has done extracurricular work with children.

To a returning reliable and hardworking worthy student.

To a student who demonstrates a thirst for learning, a love for music, history, languages and visual arts.

To a student from Newfoundland.

To a returning Grade 11 or 12 student based on academic scholarship.

To a returning Grade 12 student based on academic scholarship and need.

Awarded to a student who works hard to support himself or herself financially.

Awarded based on scholarship, citizenship, and diligence.

Given to one male and one female making the best scholastic improvement during their Junior academic year.

Awarded to a current grade 10 student who plans to return to Kingsway College for Grade 11, who demonstrates academic ability and good citizenship.

Awarded to a student based on his/her academic scholarship, citizenship and diligence.

Awarded to a student(s) working in the Maintenance or Janitorial departments to help pay their school expenses, and who are in need of financial assistance.

Awarded to a returning Kingsway College student, who is willing to work hard in order to obtain a Christian Education, and is working academically to their potential.

Awarded to a returning Kingsway College student who strives to diligently attain Christian Education, and who also have excellent work habits and good citizenship.

Awarded to a current grade 11 female student based on academic scholarship.

Awarded to a returning Junior or Senior student who has good grades and potential and needs financial help to continue their education.

Awarded to a returning student who has good grades and potential.

Awarded to a returning Grade 11 student who works hard to obtain an Adventist education.

Awarded to students from the Toronto Korean SDA Church or another Korean SDA Church or whose parents have served as missionaries.

Awarded to students who have attended Kingsway College for at least 2 years with superior ability and/or potential for improvement and works hard to contribute to his or her education.

Awarded to a grade 11 student returning to Kingsway College for grade 12. The scholarship is awarded to a student who has overcome academic challenges and has demonstrated consistent effort working to his/her potential and has demonstrated good citizenship.

Awarded to a student dedicated to Kingsway College by hard work and positive attitude that will promote Kingsway now and in the future, and whose parents also exemplify unequivocal support for Christian education.

Awarded in honour of Pr. Glendon Corkum, known as a man of deep faith and prayer and the strength, wisdom, guidance and love he received from Jesus was used in passing on those same blessings to others, to a current grade 11 student who has the same passion for Jesus and for sharing His love with everyone in his path.

Awarded to a returning Grade 11 student who is a member of the Kingsway Symphonic Choir and is on the Principal’s List.

Awarded to an athlete currently in Grade 9 to who participates in the Kingsway intramural sports program (and is not part of the varsity program) and who shows outstanding leadership qualities and exemplifies sportsmanship conduct.

Awarded to a grade 9 - 11 student who is returning and excels in the art of music, preferably someone who is in choir and an accomplished pianist.

Awarded to students working academically to their potential.

Awarded to a choir student who is a member of the choir for at least one year and plans to return for the following school year. The student must be willing to participate in all aspects of the organization’s activities and works to improve his/her musical skills and talents.

Awarded to a grade 10 student who is returning for grade 11 who have overcome academic challenges and have demonstrated consistent effort working to their potential.
Awards
Awards are usually awarded as cash amounts, and can be awarded to grade 9-12 students, depending on the award criteria.

To a grade 12 student who exemplifies Keven’s legacy for strong work ethic and extensive involvement in campus activities.

Awarded to a grade 12 student who is kind, has a strong involvement in the school and loves sports and/or music.

To a grade 12 female student who exemplifies the ideals, for which Gail was known – friendly, committed, studious, a joy to know.

To an international student who is working to potential, provides positive influence on campus, achieves a minimum of 80% average grade, good example on campus.

Awarded to a student who demonstrates character attributes of perseverance and/or resilience in the face of challenges. He or she is also actively involved in the Kingsway Praise Team Ministry.

Awarded to a graduating student who exhibits selfless attributes, be of Caribbean heritage, characterizing a tenacious and personable personality, and one whose generous spirit is reflected throughout the campus. Preference will be given to a student who was a part of the symphonic choir or music group, and aiming to pursue social work, education, or a nursing degree at a post secondary Adventist institution.

Awarded to a secondary student(s) who has demonstrated a personal commitment to making the world a better place and sharing the love of God.

To a grade 12 student who is graduating from Kingsway College and is planning to study either in the field of Sound/Media/Music or in the Nursing/Medical field.

Awarded to a current grade 12 female, graduating student, who excels in athletic ability, strives to fulfil her academic and spiritual potential, and shows love of God and life.

Awarded to a student(s) who shows a real interest in helping others, has a sense of humour and demonstrates reliability.

To a current Grade 12 Student who aspires to serve others in Nursing or a health-related medical field or culinary arts. Candidate should be a lover of music, demonstrate high academic achievement, excel socially, and exhibit Tanya’s tenacity and passion for life.
