CHOIR TEACHER

 
 

position summary:

Kingsway College, an SDA boarding high school in Oshawa, Ontario is seeking applicants for a Choir Teacher. This is a part-time position. MUST be able to work legally in Canada and have a valid current Social Insurance Number and complete a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check. Employment will begin August 1, 2026.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Music.

  • Should possess, qualify for, or be willing to take the necessary coursework to receive Ontario and NAD certification.

Experience:

  • Should have at least three years’ experience as a classroom teacher in the subject area(s) being taught.

Skills:

  • Effective teaching and learning skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work as a member of a team as well as independently.

  • Proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace for Education (Docs, Slides, Gmail, Sheets, Forms, etc.).

  • Understand the importance of confidential information concerning students and others while maintaining a high degree of integrity and support for Kingsway College.

Personal:

  • Dedicated and active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

  • Passionate about Adventist education and supports the mission of Kingsway College.

  • Professional, responsible, and a positive work attitude.

  • Available for weekend and evening hours when required.

  • Legally able to work in Canada.

  • Ability to successfully pass criminal background and vulnerable sector checks.
